The Department of Surgery integrates medical education and research with clinical services encompassing cutting edge techniques and state-of-the-art procedures in surgery. Our professional and dedicated faculty transfers knowledge to students not only by lectures and ward training but also arranges short group discussions, symposia, seminars and conferences to develop them into an independent and self-motivated medical professionals. By sharing two-thirds of surgery workload of DHQ Hospital, we have a strong network that traverses outpatient rooms, surgical wards, emergency wards and operation theatres with round the clock emergency services.The Department is well recognized by PMC for undergraduate training and by CPSP for postgraduate training. Our faculty is fully aware of its leadership role in standardizing undergraduate and postgraduate medical education for promoting a culture of medical research and improving surgical services.
